Assessment and Training Process
The step by step process of assessing an athlete and tailoring a program around their current needs to become a better footballer technically and athletically
Technical and Bio - mechanical assessment

A total assessment of the athletes biomechanical movement in high speed motion, during running gait and when performing their technical activities as a footballer:
1. Dribbling
2. Change of Direction
3. Shooting
4. Passing (both short and long)
5. Tackling (during stand still and during the move)
6. Jumping
7. Volleys
8. Running form
9. Posture during high speed movement
Speed Assessment

A analysis of the athletes speed measured by observing the athletes:
1. Ground contact time (how long their foot stays on the ground)
2. Stride frequency (how fast they move their legs in the running cycle)
3. Max speed in km/h
4. Acceleration
All conducted with electronic timing and high speed video recording
Power Assessment

An assessment conducted on the athletes power production throughout the specific footballing technical motions:
1. Power per stride
2. Shot Power
3. Passing Power
Range of Motion

An assessment of the athletes range of motion through specific areas of the body which can determine if they struggle to get into certain positions to perform at elite levels and if they are vulnerable/a high risk to injuries
Ease of motion

A visual assessment of the athletes ability to move their body in a effortless motion, a change of rhythm or lag in their movement patterns. This is requires a trained eye, this can determine also if they are not getting the best out of their training and attempt to learn new skills due to struggling to move with ease. A key skill ONLY the elite have
Postural Assessment

Analysis of the athletes posture is a focus of the ability to hold the body up against gravity. This assessment is conducted from the head down to the feet. This test indicates if they are maximizing their force production and if they have enough conditioning to sustain body positions permitting them to progress and perform their sporting at maximal speed and efficiency
Lean Mass and Body Fat Testing

As an athlete it is very important to know your body fat percentage relative to your lean muscle mass. This test consists of measuring body fat percentage through either body fat calipers and specific locations of the body (older athletes) or through using a micro electrical current from a hand held device.
